Our beautiful Yoga & Therapy Centre in the heart of Saddleworth

Here at Nurture, we believe in an integrated approach to health and well-being and so promote the importance of caring for mind, body and the earth.

We hold one belief above any other, that we are all intrinsically connected to every other living part of this planet. We all form a unique part of this incredible ecosystem and if we humans care for ourselves and each other, we can help to create a culture that encourages all of us to care for and respect the earth, our home! 

At the core of everything we share, is a hope that we can inspire everybody who crosses our threshold to feel good about themselves and to leave with a knowledge that you have joined a supportive community, committed to creating a better future through caring for ourselves and our planet.

We have carefully crafted a variety of yoga classes, open to everybody and designed to appeal to all tastes and abilities. Our complementary health services are also carefully chosen to meet the needs of mind and body whilst ensuring professional, accessible and ethical care.

We have done our best to create Nurture using non-toxic, re-cycled or sustainable materials where possible. We have a no single use plastic policy and help to preserve our local landscape via our MindfulWild Project.

WORKSHOP ANNOUNCEMENT!!  28th & 29th November!

1 or 2 day Hanna Somatics & Soundmoves Immersion with the wonderful Matt Appleby 😊

In this transformative workshop Matt will outline Hanna Somatics theory and practise, beautifully blended with Soundmoves music used to hold the timing for easeful breathing.

Somatics is a conscious movement practice that actively teaches muscles to relax - a paradigm shift to regular stretching, helping to release and unlock muscular tension. This is an experiential weekend, where you will discover three stress reflexes and habituations that become ingrained in our posture and movement. Practices are designed to un-learn habitual patterns of long held tension.

Soundmoves uses music as a guide for easy rhythmical breathing to cultivate resonance through the mind body. One of the wonderful things about Soundmoves is how adaptable, safe and ‘multi-purpose’ it is. It is a perfect compliment to somatic practise. 

This weekend is suitable for all levels, from absolute beginners looking for a gentle and rewarding approach to practise, right up to Yoga teachers looking to develop their knowledge and skillset. Prepare for plenty of a-ha moments!

These workshops over 2 days can be attended separately or together and they are available in the studio or online! Only 10 spaces available in the studio so book early to avoid disappointment! 🙏

Some of the wonderful women who joined me for Ode to Autumn on Sunday have asked me to share my words from our practice. I hope they bring you joy ❤️

Autumn is nature’s lesson in letting go.....

The signs of change are imminent as leaves display beautiful colours and begin to gently fall. Weather patterns shift and days slowly become shorter, encouraging us towards comfort and stillness.

Nature responds to diminishing hours of daylight by gradually withdrawing into a passive, slumbering sleep. Leaves fall from trees, seeds rest patiently, deep in the Earth and animals prepare for hibernation.

We too can honour our connection to nature and respond with wisdom to the changing season. We can begin to turn inwards, observe the Earth’s graceful cycle of activity and rest. Reflect upon the growth and energy of summer – consider the seeds we have sown and choose those we would like to carry with us into Autumn and Winter.  Those seeds that will help us to nurture our spirit, help us to create a healing space, a state of balance for mind, body and soul. 

All of the rest, like the leaves - we can allow to gently fall away. To let go, completely surrender - holding on only to those seeds that bring us peace and guide us slowly back into ourselves, towards growth as Spring arrives again and energy shifts slowly from dark to light.   

Following your breath - with every exhalation, gently let go and feel you are sinking softly back down into the Earth 🌎

Thank you to all who joined me, I had a wonderful evening with you all and look forward to sharing similar together in future 😊

Morning Mandala:

A dynamic flow focused on finding the connection between your practice and the elements of Air, Fire, Water and Earth. Taking inspiration from nature and its spiral patterns, exploring circular movements we will move our bodies around all corners of the mat. Consciously linking our breath and movement together to cultivate a deeper sense of calm; a moving meditation. Suitable for all yogis - you can really make this practice your own.

Poetry and storytelling evening @nurturesaddleworth

6.30-8.30pm

A free flowing open mic night for all those who want to share their words of creativity with other beautiful souls. Bring your spoken words whether of your making or ones that may resonate. Ten minute slots. Of course you can just come to listen to the beautiful words, you do not have to share if you do not wish to.

Bring a cushion, blanket, mat or a fold out chair (anything you need to be really comfortable), a drink and anything else you need for a joyful couple of hours communing together.

£5 - pay on the night but if you felt generous any extra would go to charity.

Orietta will be running a Seasonal Sound Healing and Yoga Nidra Ceremony on Sunday 11th of October 2-4pm costing £23.
.
A sensational Sunday event with guest Sound Healer, Yoga Nidra Facilitator, Circle Holder & Nature’s Rhythm Coach, Orietta. As the season changes tempo from early Autumn towards the darker seasonal cycle, an outer transition is manifesting upon the earth. We are invited to harmonize with the slower dance this offers, and to mark the transition as a personal ceremony of self-honouring and deep rest.

Orietta will take us on a journey through an inner temple of sound & meditation, intention setting & releasing, sharing & affirmation, energy balancing and sensing. Space is held for us to consider how to bring the outer ceremony of the earth’s transition into our home or life and recognise the harmony of ‘so within so without’. Through being receptive to gentle sound waves, self-honouring meditative words, positive intention and vocal harmonics, we nurture our true alignment with all that is and change from doing to BEing. The session weaves in the seasonal lessons of the forces of creation: earth, water, air, fire, spirit to support our transition to release and self-honouring.
